The Employer Database is a privately collected, acquired database containing information including name, address, telephone number, contact person, and industry designation for over 12 million businesses throughout the country. The ARC is responsible for the procurement and dissemination of the database to states for use in workforce development activities.

The State of Iowa, the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) and the Analyst Resource Center (ARC) wanted to announce the signing of a contract with infoUSA for production of the ARC Employer Database on May 5, 2009. The contract, executed between the State of Iowa and infoUSA, is for a period of three years with two possible one-year extensions.

April 2010, infoGroup ships Employer Database DVDs to state database administrators.

March 2010, infoGroup (formerly know as infoUSA) released the 2nd edition of the 2010 ARC Employer Database for downloading. Contact Jim Winner or Dan Brown for more specific information.

In October 2009, each eligible licensee will receive an uncompressed flat file of the database via FTP in the new format and containing the new data elements negotiated under the new contract. Also, as in the past, a minimum of three copies of the CD/DVDs will be distributed to each licensee. Licensees will also receive additional requested copies of the CD/DVD application at no charge. If a state wishes to change the quantity of additional CD/DVDs they receive, please send an email to Dan Brown at the address below.

In July 2009, Iowa’s Project Manager will receive the Employer Database in the new format for testing by the ARC Employer Database Steering Committee.

In May 2009, Licensees will receive the uncompressed database (flat file), a minimum of three CD/DVDs in the current format and an unlimited number of additional CD/DVDs as requested. This will be the last release in the current format. It will continue to be the licensee’s responsibility to distribute the CD/DVDs to the appropriate users.
